Setting the Standards
Health & Safety
An excellent health and safety record. Our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety is an absolute priority. We do this through extensive training, rigorous systems and excellent communication.
Our commitment to continuous improvement has been recognised by five Gold RoSPA awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. These awards not only recognise our excellent safety record but also our health and safety management systems and culture which include effective leadership and workforce engagement and commitment.
Year-on-year improvement. Throughout the business, we continually monitor and review our safety performance, benchmarking it against national figures and through our balanced scorecard and board reports. This has resulted in a year-on-year incident reduction even as our workforce has grown significantly.
Our Health, Safety & Environmental Managers carry out spot checks at each of our construction sites at least once a fortnight. Senior management teams meet with the Health and Safety team each month, with best practice guidance then communicated across the company through site manager meetings, toolbox talks, site inductions and our intranet.
For us, providing a customer-focused service is just as important as delivering a project on time and programme. Our 100% Delivery strategy, together with the great relationships our site managers form with clients help us achieve this during construction, and we continue this high level of service after completion.
Our dedicated aftercare manager joins the site team for the final weeks of a project, acting as finishing foreman; familiarising himself with the building, subcontractors and end users. He not only takes over as the main point of contact but has ownership and pride in the finished building and ensuring end users’ needs are met.
